If you are specifically trying to boost a move, you may want to manually control the fight.
Spells are only learned after combat, which can make it a bit risky to take primary casters on their first fight. Additionally, be sure to give characters a cross-Style inherited ability once they have multiple Styles unlocked.Ĭharacters can gain new physical abilities and moves during active combat already learned moves will also improve in rank the more frequently they are used on the enemy. The characters you take should be in a Style with either a high attribute growth you are aiming for, or have a larger attribute cap than their counterparts. Having good equipment, high stats like HP, LP, END, AGI, and WIL are useful as are skills and spells that alter attributes and heal.
Although it can be unpredictable on which characters you will Summon, try to aim for party members like Blue, Cat, Ginny, Undine, Sophia, Albert, Ellen, and Barbara who all have buffs and debuffs. When making a party for grinding EXP it would be good to have at least one Defender, Supporter, and Jammer Style. Many of the encounters in Romancing SaGa Re univerSe are more about attrition than brute force. Since Stamina is also needed to go on Quests, it is best to wait on using Training until you both need specific pieces and have spare Stamina. Later, once progressing far enough in the story you can unlock Training, which allows you to spend daily Stamina to have a Style unlock its pieces over a set period of time. If you Summon a Style you already own, it will instead be replaced by a number of its unique puzzle pieces. Generic pieces that can be used on all characters drop as rewards for story Quests and daily/weekly Missions.
The Style level cap is initially 30, but can be raised up to level 50 by using puzzle pieces. For example, the main character Polka might be in Style A for a large part of the campaign, but by holding off on leveling right away the EXP could instead be invested in Style S or SS as soon as they are unlocked. Since EXP is accumulated on a character, you can choose which Style it will boost. Enhancing a Style uses a character’s stored up EXP, and will give percentage bonuses (or remove negative penalties) to their base Style attributes, occasionally raise some character attributes (universal to all of their Styles), and possibly unlock skills.
